Just wanted to post some things I found while I was looking at my Suunto results from the last two weeks and analyzing why I've felt the dreaded "Burnout" and if I am really justified in feeling that way.
What I found was Suunto's own "guides to fitness" -

Even though I vary my runs in certain ways, I think I've still been doing the same 'ole run every day which is just "Go out and see how you do." So I'm wondering if Variation is the key one for me. Motivation is a problem too, but I think it all stems from mental burrnout which is cause wit hthe lack of variation. I think I need to not worry about the mileage on my training sheet (see below) and instead say "Okay today I'm going to do fartlek intervals." or "I'm just going to have fun around the city park" or even "I'm going to run in one direction as long as I can and then Car2Go back home" and not worry about "Today is 4 miles. Tomorrow is 8 miles. Oh no I only did 7.45 miles, I'm a failure!!" which I think is all that's happening.
Chris was telling me to stop worrying about the numbers, and while I know he meant ALL the numbers, I kept thinking he was talking about my speed and performance numbers, when maybe it's simply the distance that's stressing me out.

When I look at my training over the last 11 weeks, it actually doesn't look terrible except for the too-many-missed long runs. Even the week off in red I'm not upset about. I was doing 35 miles a week and from what I keep seeing looking up training plans, that's quite a bit for a noob like me. I'm forever too hard on myself and I lost sight as to why I want to run in the first place. It's to see great trails and have fun blazing up and down mountains and tell people "Fuck yeah I did that."
So I'm going to try and have more fun these next couple weeks and hopefully when I'm done with the Collegiate Peak's race in a month, I'll still want to do double the distance in September...
